She recently authored her first cookbook – “My Italian Kitchen, Homestyle Recipes Made Lighter & Healthier” and has worked as an anchor/host and reporter in numerous cities around the country, including Los Angeles, Denver and Philadelphia as well as serving as a nutrition expert for national television tours.

“I’m thrilled at the opportunity to be able to share important health and nutrition information with our viewers. After all, health is our greatest wealth,” said Zappala.

Access Health educates and entertains viewers as it tackles the latest cutting-edge developments and innovations in fitness, medicine and food such as women’s and children’s health, the best ways to get one’s body moving, how to prepare good-tasting and healthy meals, the newest medical practices, and plenty of tips, stats and insights — all to empower women and give them access to healthier living.

Access Health is unique in that at the top of each 30-minute episode, a topic is presented, and after a roundtable discussion, Zappala, along with the two other experts, cancer specialist Dr. Holmes, and Fitness Expert Dave Sinclair will lead their own segment with guests to delve deeper into the subject at hand from the perspective of their own specialty, creating a well-rounded approach to each topic.

In the premiere episode, “Mind Over Matter”, the connection between brain and body was explored with expert guests. Zappala and David Hardy, founder of Hardy Nutritionals®, talked about the critical link between nutrition and mental health.

Access Health was created by O2 Media, producers of the long-running branded entertainment shows Accesshealth®, Designing Spaces™, Mission Makeover™, and All Mixed Up™ all currently airing on Lifetime.
